Baby Two ~ 35 Weeks

How Far Along:  35 Weeks - Baby feels long!
Boy or Girl: It's a toss up!
Maternity Clothes: I thought maternity clothes were expensive and then I bought a couple new nursing tops. Good lord!!!
Sleep:Still doing ok for the most part, even with this cold. I definitely get up every hour to use the bathroom and get a drink though. I get so thirsty at night!
Best Moment: We had a good weekend. Friday night we all went out to dinner at Chili's and just hung out at home. Saturday I went to church with David and my parents and then out for Mexican at Kokopelli. Trying to get in all the out to eats that we can because neither Zach or I are big on taking babies out to eat. No thanks.
Worst Moment: I have been sick since Saturday night. I guess it's just a cold, but it is completely knocking me out. I can hardly breathe, my throat is scratchy and I have an on and off cough. Plus I'm straight up exhausted and weak. I even spiked a low fever on Monday that kind of freaked me out but luckily went away quickly. I keep hoping that I will wake up feeling better, but so far, no luck. Plus I'm also suffering from some other not so fun pregnancy issues and I'm just kind of over this week. It's been a rough one, that is for sure.
Miss Anything: Breathing. I really, really miss breathing.
Movement:This one mostly moves in the evening and at night. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. Doctor has confirmed that baby is still head down so I'm pretty sure I feel a knee or foot poking out on the left side a lot. Baby also seems to be a lot more sensitive to sound and will go crazy if there's a loud noise.
Cravings: Oh, ice cream. This week has been all about the ice cream. And still lemonade.
Aversions: Definitely ground beef. I also found a new one, jelly. I've been eating lots of peanut butter toast but I decided to make a PB&J for lunch over the weekend and ewwwww, I hated the jelly! So random!
Oh, I remember this: David had the hiccups a ton, ever since I felt him start to move. This one has hardly had the hiccups at all, until this week. Now it's all the time! And it's not short little bursts, they just go on and on. I even feel them when I wake up at night!
Well this is new: I've been woken up at night with some cramping a few times this week. I'm guessing they are intense braxton hicks or actual contractions. It's not terribly painful, so I know it's nothing much, but it's still kind of alarming at 3 in the morning.
Looking forward to: Definitely looking forward to feeling better. I am also going to dinner with Erica, who is due the same week as me tomorrow, so that will be fun. This weekend I hope to finish EVERYTHING in the nursery and pack my hospital bag and David's overnight bag for Grandma and Papa's.
How's David:  He has been extra, super cuddly lately. He always wants to be near me and sit with me and I can't complain. I'm trying to soak up the cuddles while I can. He has also been very willing to help me out and has been fetching kleenex and my water for me all week. I always let him grab something to eat on the 1 minute car ride (literally) to the babysitters and he always asks me if he can get me something. My purse is full of granola bars that he insists I take. He notices when I'm sore and uncomfortable and whenever I pick him up after work he asks me "how you feel mom?" and if I say I need to sit down for a little bit he will ask "baby hurting mom?"  He's so sweet.

In other news, I had my first internal exam and I'm 1cm dialated already, but I know that means nothing. I walked around at a 2 with David for 3 weeks before he was born. I start weekly appointments now so we'll see what's up next week.

And as promised, here's Zach's predictions for baby!
-Baby will be born on September 16 (11 days early)
-My water will break at work just like it did with David
-Baby will be a girl!
-Lots of black hair
-8 pounds 6 ounces

We shall see very shortly.....

Baby Two ~ 34 Weeks

How Far Along:  34 Weeks - Baby is the size of a bag of sugar... I guess?

Boy or Girl:  I am so convinced it's a boy that I feel like I'm lying to people when I tell them we didn't find out. I am so mad at that ultrasound tech, she ruined everything. Even though everyone tells me that techs frequently call babies "he" I still think she totally gave it away...3 times (and only after she saw the goods). So there, that's why I'm sure it's a boy, even when we don't technically "know"

Maternity Clothes: Unless they are my ultra-comfy gaucho pants, I hate clothes.

Sleep: Been sleeping really really well (unless I take a nap, and then I can't fall asleep to save my life. Last night I was up until 3am. So, no more naps for me I guess)

Best Moment: The room is pretty much totally put together. I need Zach to assemble the bookcase and hang the curtains but otherwise, it's done. I only have one load of laundry left to do too. I wanted everything done by September 1, and it looks like I just might beat my goal!
Worst Moment: We found out Zach's 10-day work trip got moved. We thought it would be later, but turns out it's earlier. So, best case scenario the baby will be almost a month old. Worst case scenario the baby will be less than a week old. [Insert nervous laughter here.]
David also caught a cold this week and we had a couple miserable nights. One involving needing to be soothed back to sleep every half hour all night long. It was definitely a taste of what's to come...

Miss Anything: Sitting comfortably. No position is comfortable anymore, not even sitting in the recliner.

Movement: I'm fairly sure the baby has dropped and is getting big because movement is still there all the time but it's not super noticeable. Lots of times I don't feel anything but look down and see things wiggling around. Still majorly front and center though. I'm thankful for not getting all wide this time like I did with David.

Cravings: I think lemonade is going to be the headline for this pregnancy. It always sounds perfect, even though it gives me heartburn, I can't help myself.

Aversions: Same ol' stuff. I also don't have much of an appetite anymore. Nothing sounds particularly good and I can't eat much at all in one sitting.
Oh I remember this:I wish I could remember what contractions feel like. I keep thinking I'm having some but I have no clue. I guess that means no because I'm sure I'll be "oh yeah!" when I get a real one. For now I'm just very crampy and uncomfortable....all the time.

Well this is new:  I am not nearly as swollen as I was when I was this far along with David. It's pretty fantastic! We'll see if it keeps up as the summer heat has finally decided to arrive....
Looking forward to: finishing everything up so I can sit back and relax these last few weeks.
How's David: The other day he puffed out his stomach and announced that "my baby is getting big! He's gonna come out soon!" Ha! We are currently working on trying to get him to be better about playing on his own. It's not going so well. He's always been a little high matinance in this department, ever since he was born. He's just always needed to be entertained. We'll keep working on it, but I'm afraid he's going to be really upset when I can't drop everything and play at a moments notice when the baby is here.

....and before we get too far I wanted to capture my predictions for this baby.  Just for fun!

-I think the baby will be born on September 17 (10 days before I'm due)
-I think I will go into labor during the night and it will be contractions this time, not my water breaking
-I think labor will be shorter, but more painful
-I think it will be a boy
-I think baby will have less hair than David and it will be lighter
-I think baby will be smaller than David, low 7lbs

Next week I'll see what Zach has to say :)

(sorry about the formatting. Blogger is the worst.)

Baby Two ~ 33 Weeks

How Far Along:  33 Weeks - Baby is feeling big!
Boy or Girl:  Boy, probably
Maternity Clothes: Put on one of my oversized tshirts I used to sleep in and didn't realize that my belly was hanging out the bottom until AFTER I came inside from playing with David in the front yard with all the neighbors. Back to strictly maternity shirts over here.
Sleep: Sunday night I was up until 3am. Wide awake, could not fall asleep to save my life. I think I took too long of a nap or something because I've been back to sleeping "well" the rest of the week (if you count getting up at least 5 times a night to use the bathroom sleeping well)
Best Moment: Saturday night Zach and I had probably our last date night for a while. We went to dinner at J. Alexanders (so good!) and then got really wild and went to Target and to window shop for cars. Oh and we also got some ice cream :) My kind of date night!
Worst Moment: Had some real-deal contractions Friday night. At first I thought I just had a stomach ache and then it stopped and then started again a few minutes later. YIKES! I promptly sat down and drank water and the painful ones stopped. Zach said I kept moaning in my sleep though and at one point woke me up to make sure we didn't need to head to the hospital. Ha! All was back to normal the next day and has been since. Stay put, baby!
Miss Anything: I miss having feeling in my fingertips. I now sleep with both hands in a brace and it's not really helping with anything other than keeping my wrists from locking up, which I suppose is something.
Movement: The doctor confirmed today that the poky body part that likes to make waves across my belly is indeed a knee or foot. A "big" knee or foot, she said. Baby is definitely head down and we hope to keep it that way from here on out.
Cravings: Still flavored water. I think I'm just really sick of regular water. I've also been craving fettuccine alfredo, it always sounds good.
Aversions: I was starting to think the hamburger aversion was fading but then we went to Culvers for ice cream and I could barely stand being in there with the smell of all the hamburgers cooking. Blech!
Oh, I remember this: Lots of pressure when I stand. Oof!
Well this is new: TMI I guess, but last time all my stretch marks were below my belly button. This time they are all above my belly button. Look how cute, the kids are already sharing. UGH! The cocoa butter does not seem to be helping, but I'm keeping at it. I didn't even gain any weight the past couple weeks so I don't know what else to do! Deal with it I guess.
Looking forward to:Wednesday's! I got the OK from my boss to start working from home on Wednesday's since I have appointments every week on that day from here on out. It will be a nice mid-week break from sitting at my uncomfortable desk.
How's David: I'm adding a new one this week. David seems to finally understand that a baby is coming at some point. I've been letting him "help" me get the baby's room ready and he's been pointing out things in his room that the "baby needs one too!" like his lamp, sound machine and cross. He also says the baby can sit next to him in the car but not in HIS seat and the baby has to "look out the window on his own!"  Today he got to come to my appointment with me which is in the same complex as the hospital. We pulled in and he goes "OH!! This is where the baby lives!" Ha! He's been "playing baby" with his Elmo and Bunny that he sleeps with. Every morning when I wake him up he wants me to hold the baby bunny and he holds baby Elmo. He'll give him a kiss and change his diaper. It's very sweet. I hope he is like that with the real baby too.

Baby Two ~ 32 Weeks

How Far Along:  32 Weeks - Baby is the size of a random squash and weighs about 3 pounds, give or take.
Boy or Girl:  At my friends baby shower there was a girl there who I had never met before that looked me square in the face and proclaimed "I know exactly what you are having, 100%, without a doubt"  A girl apparently. So, there's that.
Maternity Clothes: I am not currently a fan of clothing. Maxi skirts are my current go-to for work because they are the most comfy. I am pretty much only able to wear flip flops too, which is worrisome as my feet aren't even really swollen. I fear they have grown... again.
Sleep: Been a pretty good week in the sleep department (knock on wood!)  I've only even had to take tylenol once so far!
Best Moment: A best moment overall this pregnancy has been being able to share it with so many friends. With David I kind of had to go it alone in the pregnancy department. Short of a few girls at work nobody I knew was expecting. This time is a whole 'nother story! There are currently 4 of my neighbors who are pregnant (one who just had a baby two moths ago). My two closest work friends are pregnant. And one of my very close college friends is pregnant! It's a pregnant-palooza! It's been really nice having people to gab about all things pregnancy and baby with. It is also going to be really great to have so many people with babies the same age!

We also took David to our hospital tour this week. He did really well and wasn't scared or worried about anything (you never know what's going to spook a two year old...) and was pretty excited to be there with us. Although he was also mostly convinced we were there to "get the baby"
Worst Moment: . I'm struggling with getting the nursery done. I cannot decide on anything. Everything seems too girlie or too boyish. Every single wall is blank and there are piles of gear and clothes that need to be sorted and washed and organized. I just can't get into it this time. I've almost caved and called the doctor (who knows the sex of the baby) a million times. I'm getting anxious! But, I know I'll regret it if we find out, so I'm holding on. I just need some motivation to finish the room!
Miss Anything: I really miss being able to walk normally. Baby is wedged down low and hitting my right hip. That, coupled with my bad leg pain makes for some interesting walking experiences.
Movement: It's starting to get painful. I'm still getting really big movements right above my belly button. It is really, really sore.  I've been stretching a lot this week and at one point it felt like my skin was literally ripping. Woke up the next morning with a new stretch mark right there. Argh! I still will never complain about feeling movement though. It is so reassuring.
Cravings: Lemonade and flavored waters.  Pizza. Diet Coke. I've been eating a lot of watermelon and cucumbers with tomatoes this week too.
Aversions: Fried food. Hamburger.
Oh, I remember this: Can't eat much in one sitting anymore. It's mostly just lots of snacking at this point.
Well this is new: the ripping skin sensation is definitely new. I got some Palmers Cocoa Butter Stretch Mark Cream today. Hoping that helps a little...
Looking forward to: Chiefs Football season starts tomorrow!!!! That means September is ALMOST HERE!

Somehow we still fit in the chair for cuddles every night.
